WELCOME TO THE SRC WEBSITE
Skills Recognition Classification (SRC) is an XLT initiative offering a skills classification system to ensure the proper skills development of welders, improve employment prospects, and provide employers with guaranteed access to specialised workers. SRC also ensures welder training is carried out to the highest level.
The XLT SRC Card enables employers to employ without testing or further training, as the card guarantees that the card-holder has met a set level of competency, but also allows employees to have skills classified to a level using the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.
NOT JUST ANOTHER CERTIFICATION
Previous industry attempts to certify welding and boilermaking employees has left employers very disappointed with employees being unable to perform the specialised tasks required for specific projects.
The goal of SRC is to to ensure speciallised skills development through the creation of craftsmanship skills and knowledge, which can only be achieved over time and with sufficient on-the-job experience.
SRC training not only provides students with specialised skills, but also with a generic foundation of skills and knowledge upon which any skill can be developed.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SRC?
- Choose by colour, recruit by skill requirement.
- Know your workforce. Man, project and skill specific. Whether it be a boilermaker or welder.
- XLT can train and/or assess daily. That includes Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
- SRC training is true competency based. (Levels must be completed and assessed)
- SRC card holders are assessed on theory as well as practical.
- SRC easily cross references to national standards and training packages/competencies.
- Employees can be assessed and accredited on current skills and upgraded as needed and gain relevant card number.
- All process materials, Australian and International.
- Levels can be tailored to suit needs (add ons) for company specific purposes.
- The database can constantly be updated.
- We can evaluate and train on site, both nationally and internationally including Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
- SRC codes/cards are valid for two years.
WHERE DO YOU FIT IN?
Get paid what you deserve. SRC offers individuals, such as boilermakers and welders, the opportunity have skills recognised and upgrade to higher skill levels and open up to the potential of greater job satisfaction and more money. After all, fair is fair!
And the SRC Card enables employees to learn and employers to employ with a high degree of confidence. The card certifies that the holder has met a set level of competencies.
Shortfalls in welder or boilermaker skills can be identified and rectified through the provision of further training enabling a self-paced development of credible skills, knowledge and confidence.
XLT Skillcard is the perfect partner for welder and boilermaker training. If you have welding skills but no current qualification XLT Skillcard can also use Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to classify the level of welder you are. Or if you're an employer and want to know the skills and quality of welding traing for the welder or boilermaker you wish to hire then this is the answer for you.
